The rugged tablets of the DT382 D-Series from DT Research, consisting of the DT382DN and DT382DH models, differ mainly in their CPU: the DN version works with an Intel N200 quad-core processor, while the DH variant houses an even more powerful Intel Core i3-N300 octa-core CPU. Both devices have a capacitive, sunlight-readable 8-inch touch display.
The robust devices can be used universally in logistics and warehousing, in Industry 4.0 scenarios and wherever reliable mobile recording of physical – possibly even movable – objects is required. Linked to applications that can display and process object-related information, the DT382 D-Series becomes a core component of complete IT solutions such as modern asset tracking. With the integrated RFID reader (optionally UHF with a reading range of up to 10 meters), machines, tools, vehicles or people equipped with appropriate tags can be recorded contactlessly for access control, even from a distance. Via the additionally installed barcode scanner, the device can also clearly recognize objects with a barcode label. In addition, the GNSS module can be used to determine the exact geographical position.
Another interesting application is the use of the DT382DN and DT382DH as POS systems: a payment module holder, among other things, is available for this purpose. Depending on the POS software, MicroSD can be used for fiscalization or a master-client operation can be set up in which the mobile devices only work as clients of an existing Windows POS system. The tablets are thus the ideal rugged mobile POS for POS applications in the Windows area.
The rugged tablets with integrated WiFi and Bluetooth, offer hot-swappable batteries and a vehicle installation and charging option. They run on Microsoft Windows 11 IoTE.
The hardware is certified according to protection class IP65 and the military standard MIL-STD-810G – shocks, dust and moisture cannot harm the tablet.
