Munich, August 23, 2022 – The FuturePAD FPQ10, one of the flagship products of Munich-based VAD Concept International, is considered one of the thinnest and most powerful fully rugged tablets on the market with its 10mm and is available in both Windows and Android versions. An active mount is now available for the FPQ10, allowing the device to be stably mounted in vehicles such as trucks, forklifts, fire trucks, but also on or attached to vibrating machinery as a mobile HMI. Permanently installed USB ports, a serial interface and an RJ45 connector for LAN cables ensure fast and trouble-free communication with peripherals or network. The tablet mount features an active fast charging function that can operate over a wide voltage input range of 9-36V DC. Users can choose between a cigarette lighter connection cable (12/24V) or a power supply (9-36V) with open cable ends that clips directly to the vehicle’s battery.

Lockable mounting clips

The tablet is held securely in the rubberized and vibration-protected holder by means of a lockable mounting clip, thus reliably protecting the FPQ10 from falling down and losing contact while driving. The scope of delivery also includes an articulated arm with two ball heads and mounting plate to simultaneously mount the tablet flexibly and firmly in vehicles, machines, equipment or to enable wall mounting. The VESA holes (75mm / 100mm) are located on the back of the mount.

Easy removal

The tablet can be easily removed from the mount, reinserted and locked with one hand. Due to the bottom pogo pins on the tablet, the interfaces of the mount connect automatically when inserted. The tablet is also protected against unauthorized removal by an integrated lock on the mount.

Predestined for harsh and challenging environments

The FPQ10 mount is certified to IP30 standards and can withstand operating temperatures from -20°C to +50°C and humidity levels between 5% and 95%. This makes it particularly suitable for use in dirty and harsh environments such as construction sites.

The device communicates with peripherals or network via two USB 2.0, one serial RS232 interface and one sRJ45 LAN interface. The USB-C interface is used for power supply. Here, users have the choice between a connection cable for cigarette lighter (12/24V) or a power supply unit with a very wide input voltage range of 9 to 36 V, which is clamped directly to the vehicle’s battery with open cable ends.
