With the new FPE10-W from its own FuturePAD brand, Concept International has launched one of the thinnest, lightest, yet most powerful and rugged fully rugged tablets on the market. This ultra-slim Windows tablet, measuring just 11.6 millimeters thick, was specifically designed for mobile data collection in harsh and demanding work environments—specifically for everyday hospital use and emergency services, as well as for applications in the military, industry, construction, and logistics. It is certified accordingly and proven to be protected against dust, water jets, and drops from a height of up to 1.5 meters. With its lightweight design weighing just 800 grams, the FPE10-W guarantees handling as user-friendly as a consumer tablet, while also offering flexible configuration options.
“The rugged tablet features a brilliant 10.5-inch touchscreen display (1920 x 1280 pixels) and, with a maximum brightness of 600 cd/m² and optional features such as LTE and an integrated 2D scanner, is particularly well-suited for mobile logistics, service, or field operations where mobility, durability, and flexible connectivity are key,” says Mike Finckh, Managing Director of Concept International. In emergency services, the Windows tablet supports responders quickly and reliably with data collection amid the hustle and bustle of the emergency room and even during outdoor operations in pouring rain. In industrial and production environments, it functions reliably as a human-machine interface; in warehousing and logistics, the FPE10-W actively assists with data entry and posting in ERP systems. All tablet versions are IP66 certified; the medical and military versions also have EN 60601-1 and -2 medical certifications and are already EN 18031 cybersecurity certified.
Powerful and Smart Internals
Inside, a powerful Intel Alder Lake N200 processor with four cores and a clock speed of 1.0 to 3.7 GHz operates efficiently and with low power consumption at 6 watts. This means the rugged tablet reliably lasts at least an 8-hour shift before needing to be recharged. The FPE10-W supports fast charging via USB-C and features a magnetically detachable charging connector for wear-free and particularly convenient use, especially in high-stress and harsh environments. This is a huge practical advantage, particularly when speed is of the essence in emergency vehicles and in everyday hospital settings, where tablets have often failed in the past due to sockets being yanked out in a hurry. With 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory, the FPE10-W is fast and powerful enough for all applications; WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, along with optional LTE, ensure modern and stable wireless connectivity.
Flexibly expandable as needed
The rugged tablet features a 5-megapixel front camera and a 13-megapixel rear camera; the FPE10-W is also available with an optional 2D barcode scanner. LTE, GPS, and NFC can also be seamlessly integrated as optional features. The FuturePAD can be flexibly expanded via Pogo-pin interfaces: for example, with a CAC smart card reader (for reading health insurance cards, among other things) and with separate NFC readers, each of which can also be bundled in a combination module. Upon request, special solutions with advanced sensor technology can also be docked to the Pogo-pin interfaces.
The range of optional accessories also includes an active digitizer pen, rechargeable via USB, a docking station with 2 USB charging ports, a practical hand strap solution, and various vehicle and wall mounts with robust RAM mounts. With integrated VESA 75 mounting holes, the rugged tablet can be easily mounted on a forklift or emergency vehicle using a ball-head RAM mount.
