The Giada F109D is a compact industrial PC designed for integration into machine housings, control cabinets, or control systems. Its proven predecessor (F108D) remains in the product range, but the F109D offers more performance with the new Twin Lake processors while maintaining a good price-performance ratio. The compact, fanless book-sized computer has grown by a good 5 mm due to an aluminum cooling fin attachment – but this means that it is well encapsulated and works even more reliably at high power output, making it suitable for use in warm and dusty industrial plants or production halls. Munich-based value-added distributor Concept International now has the fanless embedded IPC for robust 24/7 continuous operation in its product range.
The Giada F109D in a compact book-size format is barely larger than a paperback (189.6 x 148.3 x 32 mm) and can be easily accommodated even in confined spaces, such as in narrow control cabinets. VESA mounts are available. With the introduction of the Twin Lake CPU generation, more powerful CPUs with OctaCore and up to 3.9 GHz are now also available. This means that the embedded IPC with Intel’s new, energy-efficient Twin Lake processors not only operates completely silently and requires little maintenance, but is also suitable for use in dusty environments.
In addition to the brand-new N150 and N250 QuadCore processors, the new Core 3 N processors N350 and N355 are also available. Both work with eight efficiency cores, i.e. E-cores, and a maximum of 3.9 GHz. Furthermore, fast DDR5 memory is used, which improves overall performance in computationally intensive applications. Giada thus underscores its claim to offer as much performance as possible at the lowest possible cost and with the greatest possible energy efficiency.
Versatile interfaces for industrial use
Two HDMI and one DP connection enable up to three monitors to be controlled simultaneously in 4K/UHD (max. 4096 x 2160) at flicker-free 60 Hz. In the F109D’s price range, only two digital outputs are usually available, not three. The current DDR5 RAM can be equipped with 8 to 16 GB, depending on performance requirements. The F109D also offers six USB slots (2 x USB 3.2 Gen2 and 4 x USB 2.0), two Ethernet RJ45 and two serial COM ports.
Two network connections offer special security: These allow the intranet and internet to be neatly separated from each other, sensibly and easily reducing the risk of attacks or data leaks. A slot for a SIM card also enables mobile communication in networked industrial systems or remote plant areas. An audio input and output for microphone and speaker is also available.
Windows 11 IoT Enterprise or Linux Ubuntu 64-bit are available as operating systems.
Endurance runner

In addition to its robust components, Giada’s JAHC technology also ensures 24/7 availability: This hardware component includes the “Watchdog,” which automatically reboots the IPC and restarts the desired application in the event of a malfunction. It also enables the PC to be started up and shut down at different times of the day and night using RTC (Real-Time Clock).
Price and availability
The F109D is now available from value-added distributor Concept International at a net list price starting at €390 (recommended retail price). Special conditions are available for resellers and system houses on request. Concept International also supports the rollout of projects with its Total Preparation Service: project-specific, fully configured and endurance-tested devices, even in large quantities.
