Proven all-rounders from the YR series now with the latest Intel processors
Munich, 25.1.2024 – Rugged tablets for medical and industrial applications from DT Research are a hot seller at Munich-based value-added distributor Concept International. The new YR series, which features 13th generation Intel Core i CPUs “Raptor Lake”, offers a huge leap in performance compared to previous models. The YR tablet series is particularly tough and therefore ideally suited for use in industry, logistics, in the field or in medicine. With an attachable keyboard, the 2-in-1 devices are a mobile alternative to fixed panel PCs and laptops.
Rugged tablets are in service for a long time and have a long product life cycle. This is why the current 13th Intel processor generation in the YR series from DT Research usually replaces the 11th Intel generation in the predecessors, and even the 8th Intel generation in particularly elaborately certified devices. The increase in performance is correspondingly huge when skipping several generations. The YR series consists of the DT301YR, DT311YR, DT313YR and DT340T devices. The four tablets have one thing in common: a high degree of flexibility thanks to a wide range of accessories, above all the plug-in, full QWERTY keyboard. And, of course, they are particularly robust in terms of cold, heat, moisture, drops and EMC. The differences within the series lie in the form factor – ten, eleven, 13 or 14 inches – and in the electronic inner workings.
With up to 14 cores in the high-end DT340T model, “Raptor Lake” has access to up to 64 GB of RAM. The hard disk storage ranges from 256 GB to 2 TB and is NVMe-based. This technology offers advantages such as faster access times, higher data transfer rates, lower energy consumption and higher shock resistance because there are no moving parts. The tablets are ideally suited for memory and computing-intensive applications such as 3D graphics or forensics. They can be optimally integrated into existing IT infrastructures with Windows 10/11 IoT Enterprise.
Tough as nails: For mobile working in any environment
As the name “Fully Rugged” suggests, the models in the YR series are particularly robust and especially suitable for use in harsh and demanding industrial environments, on construction sites, in the medical sector or for continuous outdoor use in extreme weather conditions. IP65 certification allows operation in cold, hot, frosty, damp and dusty environments. Drop resistance and electromagnetic compatibility are guaranteed by MIL-STD-810G and MIL-STD-461F. In addition, all four tablets are equipped with an antimicrobial surface, which is important for use in hospitals or ambulances.
Typical areas of application include the production of vehicles, programmable logic controllers in mechanical engineering, the military and medicine. The tablets can either be used as mobile devices, e.g. for machine control, or inserted directly into a docking station. Weighing between 1.3 and 2.9 kg, they are just as portable as an industrial laptop. Brackets for walls and vehicles also provide even more stable flexibility.
For flexible and mobile use, an attachable, fully-fledged QWERTY keyboard with integrated docking station is available for every size in the series (2x USB, 1x Ethernet, 1x HDMI and USB-C). The keyboard is firmly connected to the tablet and simply folded onto the display. This turns the tablet into a fully-fledged laptop in no time at all.
Features: future-proof
Communication takes place via important and common industrial interfaces, including Ethernet (GB-LAN), USB-C and USB 3.0. External devices can be integrated via Bluetooth 5.2. Wi-Fi 6e with an 802.11ax protocol ensures fast and stable Wi-Fi, even in busy networks.
Large-format slots that seamlessly accept chip cards, the integrated smart card/CAC reader and optional integrated UHF RFID tag reader make it possible to log in to the tablet effortlessly and securely with common access data, such as inductive Mifare or Legic cards. An optional LTE/5G module and a GPS module ensure optimum connectivity.
High-brightness displays and hot-swappable batteries for 24/7 continuous use
The tablets in the 300YR series are available in four different sizes from 10.1 to 11.6 and 13.6 to 14 inches for the high-end DT340T tablet. The touchscreens achieve a brightness of up to 1,000 cd/m² (high-brightness) and Full HD image quality with high contrasts. This allows reading even in sunlight. An optional digitizer pen is available for signatures or handwritten notes. The display also copes well with moisture and even raindrops on the device, even when wearing gloves.
The YR series sets standards in terms of power supply: the battery (either 60 or 90 Wh) guarantees runtimes of up to eight or 14 hours. Thanks to a permanently integrated buffer battery, the battery can be easily replaced during operation for seamless working without interruption. This continuous use can even be vital, particularly in production environments or in medicine.
Other options include a 2D barcode scanner, a precise U-blox M8 GNSS module and cameras with a resolution of two megapixels at the front and eight megapixels at the rear, autofocus and LED light. The combination of these elements enables extremely precise documentation of damaged areas in production facilities, for example, thanks to the GNSS module.

The YR series of rugged tablets is now available from Concept International. The list price starts at 2,340 euros net (recommended retail price). Sales partners benefit from special conditions and services, including roll-out support as part of the Total Preparation Service. As an option, Concept offers an extended warranty of up to five years instead of the usual two years.
